Fallen Stars

Fallen Stars is influenced by the computer game House of the Dying Sun and Warhammer 40K. The players take on the roles of Avatars, the chosen of the Emperess who has been usurped and slain.

The Avatars attempt to avenge the Empress and slay the usurpers and ultimately overthrow the Empire in turn.

The game uses a standard deck of playing cards with each player drawing an individual hand. The game is played over a fixed set of themed phases: Raid, Retaliation, Rally and Revenge. In each phase a GM player sets a scene and then openly draws a single card.

The players then attempt to trump this card from their hand. Their character is successful in their goals for the scene if they do trump the card, otherwise they fail.

The game only just fits into the 200 words format and practically begs to be taken to a one-page format where it can expand on the structure of the scenes and framing.
